September 30, 2022: Dehydration
This morning Kathy called the clinic about Sam’s continued nausea and dehydration, and the care team there squeezed him in to get some fluids and better anti nausea meds. It’s made a huge and immediate difference; Sam is out right now at the Paly football game with some friends and we should be a go for Homecoming tomorrow. (We will go in for one more bag of fluid tomorrow morning, too.)
The difference has been amazing, and we are armed with more techniques for next time we go in for the high dose methotrexate (probably Thursday). Other than the nausea and dehydration, numbers are all looking really great. Fingers crossed for a good night of sleep.
And: we are both beyond grateful for the attention, care and kindness from the team at LPCH. Everyone understands that getting to homecoming is important to Sam, and they pulled out all the stops to make it possible. They were so kind, and so focused on delivering the thing that he really wanted. Fills up our emotional gas tanks, fills up our hearts.
