Candy trading, math and chess— some fun moments from this week. Sam likes chocolate and Zack does not so that’s the starting point but it seems chemo has made Sam’s taste buds more oriented to the fruity candies this year, so trading wasn’t as clear cut as it has been in the past (plus Sam didn’t trick or treat — I just gave him a bucket of treats).  Zack, as you can see, had enough candy for the neighborhood!  There was a moment of conflict when a full sized Hershey’s bar came up and it wasn’t clear what a fair trade for it was. But all’s well that ends well. 

Math — a fun moment on Wednesday night at dinner: Sam gave Zack an algebra problem on a napkin and started teaching him how to combine like terms and figure out variables. It was really fun to watch. Zack loves math and it was fun to watch Sam in teacher mode.

And then yesterday they played  3 games of chess. ❤️
