October 11, 2022: Update

Good morning Team Sam!
Thank you for your encouraging words and hearts as we made our way through yesterday’s ups and downs. The MRI (which got rescheduled to 2 am this morning — oooooof! Sam, of course, was a trooper and they let him sleep in this morning — even skipped checking his vitals at 8 am — yay!) was clean so they will proceed with the lumbar puncture with interventional imaging/radiology to help with the placement of the needle. We still don’t know why there was difficulties yesterday — will talk with the team hopefully when they come for rounds which are scheduled at 11:45 am.
The PT stopped by this morning, too, and gave Sam some 5 lb weights to work on his wrist strength (he also broke his wrist on May 22 which seems like an eternity ago). But it’s good to have something else to think about, I think (he would roll his eyes at me writing that of course 😬).
And as I wrote to Uncle Bryan in the comments below, there have been some “silver lining” things that have happened:
1) Sam shared some of the Tiktoks that make him laugh with me last night and we both laughed and laughed. It was great. I’d never been on Tiktok before (old!)
2) He told me of this new phenomenon he’s experiencing: he was in downtown Palo Alto with his friend on Sunday and was wearing his bald and beautiful head without a beanie and he noticed that he got a nod and a bro-hood look from the bald men he came across. Bald bro-hood unite! Thanks for including our bald teen ❤️

I'll have to find him on Tik Tok so I can send him videos I think are funny -- I am also too old to be on there but enjoy it anyways haha
That should be the YouTube link to it. The TikTok has something like 24M views for some inexplicable reason. I think I'm way too old to understand the allure of these videos, but of course I love when my kiddos want to sit with me and show me their favorites! :)
